Festival of explosive sledgehammers
There are festivals in the world that are definitely not found anywhere else. One of them is the festival of explosive sledgehammers held in the tiny town of San Juan de la Vega in Mexico. Here, the locals rather uniquely recreate one historical event, hammering with sledgehammers on fireworks and firecrackers.
1. Every year, local people recreate the event of a four-hundred-year battle between local farmers and wealthy landowners.
2. Any resident or guest of the city can take part in the festival, take a sledgehammer with a homemade petard at the end and hit the concrete block with all his might. Explosions happen strong, and often the hero flies a few meters away.
3. Every year dozens of people are injured without calculating the power of improvised explosive devices. Ambulances and police are on duty at the festival.
