A report on the work done is very important to make sense in order to briefly but succinctly state the results of your activities. Are there special reporting rules that you need to know when starting to write such documentation?

Why do I need to make a report on the work done? Reporting helps:

  1. monitor the performance of their duties by employees;
  2. identify problem areas in the work of a specific employee and the department as a whole;
  3. to find out whether enough effort was made to solve the problem;

  5. substantiate the costs of employees.

What are the main requirements for the report? You should briefly talk about the results of your work, but at the same time, indicating the entire amount of work done.

An intelligent report will not only give an idea of ​​how well you have worked, but will also present you in a favorable light - by an employee who is able to express his thoughts clearly, highlighting the main points and not being distracted by unnecessary details.

In terms of periodicity, the report can be weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual.

Sometimes an employee reports on a specific event (for example, how a presentation of a new book was organized, the preparation and implementation of which took several days, or a three-day sales training).

In the title of the report should include information about the timing, for example, "Report on the seminar on personnel management 7-9 October 2015".

The report on business trip is obligatory for all workers, irrespective of its duration.

A report on the work done can be written in text form and in statistical form. A text report is a coherent narrative, supplemented by various graphs, charts and tables.

And if you prefer the statistical form, then focus on illustrating materials, to which write explanations in the form of text.

Report structure

There is no single standard for writing a report on the work done, as well as the employee’s autobiography. Each organization may have its own requirements for the structure of such documents.

Such a presentation looks logical, for example: the first section is “Introduction”, in it succinctly describe the tasks set before you, the methods that were used to solve them, and the result obtained.

In the "Main Part" describe in more detail the sequence of your work:

  1. preparation for project implementation;
  2. stages of its implementation (specify all resources used: marketing research, analytical work, experiences, business trips, attraction of other employees);
  3. problems and difficulties, if any;
  4. proposals to eliminate difficulties;
  5. achieved result.

The report in the form of a table will look more clearly, structured and concisely.

If you often have to make current reports on the work done, it will be convenient to prepare a template in which you regularly need to enter the necessary data.

And in order not to forget anything important for the past working day, take a few minutes out of your schedule, writing down everything you did. Otherwise, then be sure to miss something.

Write a report

When you are compiling an annual report, analyze the dynamics of the achieved results, comparing with the previous year and giving a forecast for the next year.

As an addition to the main part of the report, attach materials that confirm the stated facts - copies of letters of thanks and entries in the book of reviews, publications in the press about the events held, checks and invoices.

The financial part is better to allocate a separate section, which should be filled in as required by the accounting department of your organization.

The report on the work done completes the section "Conclusion". In it, you formulate conclusions and proposals arising from the results of the work done, if you consider them useful for improving the activities of your organization.

A report on the work done is printed using A4 sheets. Pages should be numbered, to issue a title page.

When your document is quite voluminous, make a table of contents separately, so it will be easier to navigate in your report.
