In Australia, the drone first saved drowning people

In Australia, a drone helped save two teenagers who were blown into the open ocean. This is the first case in the world to rescue a drowning man using a quadrocopter.

Lifeguards on Lennox Head Beach in New South Wales were preparing for tests as part of a program to reduce shark attacks when they received a signal of sinking surfers — 16-year-old Monty Greenslade and 17-year-old Geiba Widler.

The teenagers sailed 700 meters from the coast and struggled to cope with the waves, which at that moment reached three meters in height. Then the rescuers attached a special tool to the drone to rescue the drowning and sent it to the drowning.

An entry made on the Australian drone was posted on YouTube, which dropped a special capsule to a minor. It was filled with air and helped the people who drowned stay on the water and reach the shore. The rescue operation took only one or two minutes.

Here is the rescue of the drowning with the help of a multikopter. These shots were taken during a training operation in Germany.

Such a drone, to which two rescue pillows are attached, is intended for the operational rescue of drowning people. But it is necessary to act in emergency situations quickly, because an adult can drown in a matter of minutes, and a child can drown in a few dozen seconds.

New South Wales bought drones to detect sharks and rescue drowning people.

The government of this Australian state has invested 430 thousand Australian dollars (19.3 million rubles) in the development of rescue drones. All of them are designed for different purposes: there are drones for the detection of sharks, for the rescue of drowning, there are equipped with loudspeakers and flashing lights. Their trials will end in April. After that, it will be decided to use drones throughout the state.
